"Here kids, this is how
you do it" Trail Master Jerry Mello !!
2/3/12
More of the
same we received 2" of snow on Monday and it
turned to rain as usual. Some snow remains in the higher
elevations but getting there is a real
challenge.
Gates are open riding is very marginal. Watch
for rocks, ice, down trees, bare spots.
Lower elevations have one inch of snow higher up there
is some, the fire tower trail had 5" to 7". We
have been over our trails with the groomer but
I would not call it grooming, trails are icy
with many rocks and water bars not filled in. Check with the clubs who's
trails trails you intend to ride for local
conditions.

RECOMMENDED PRACTICE FOR PASSING A GROOMER
approved
by NHSA map and trails committee
1. FOR
ONCOMING SLEDS: The sled should pull off the
trail
and allow the groomer to pass by.
2.
OVERTAKING A GROOMER: The groomer operator
should
find a safe place to pull over and stop. The
rider can then
check to see if they can safely pass the groomer.
NOTE: The groomer operator will not signal a
sled to pass.
Reason: Each rider must take responsibility for
passing
a trail groomer.
